Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains when refunds and cancellations are available for lawyer subscription payments on LawyersNearMe, and how to request one. It applies in addition to our Terms of Service.
Consumer accounts are free — there are no charges to refund.
1. What can be refunded
Lawyer subscription fees may be refunded in the following situations:
- • Cooling-off cancellation — if you cancel within [LAWYER REVIEW: 7 / 14 days] of your initial subscription payment AND your verification was not yet approved, we will refund the full subscription fee.
- • Verification rejection — if our verification team rejects your profile (e.g. your enrolment cannot be confirmed), we will refund the full subscription fee within [LAWYER REVIEW: 7 / 14 business days] of the rejection.
- • Platform-side error — if a payment was charged in error (duplicate charge, billing system bug), we will refund the affected amount immediately on confirmation.
2. What cannot be refunded
- • Subscription periods where the lawyer profile was active and visible to consumers
- • Subscriptions where consumer connections were already received via the platform
- • Subscriptions cancelled after the cooling-off window described in Section 1
- • Payments by parties whose accounts were suspended for breach of our Terms of Service (e.g. forged verification documents, prohibited conduct)

3. How to request a refund
- 1. Log into your lawyer account and visit your dashboard, or
- 2. Email our Grievance Officer at [LAWYER REVIEW: refund@lawyersnearme.in or equivalent] with: your registered email, transaction reference number, and the reason for the refund request.
4. Processing time
We will acknowledge refund requests within [LAWYER REVIEW: 24 / 48 hours] and approve or decline them within [LAWYER REVIEW: 5 / 7 business days].
Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method via our payment provider. Typical bank settlement timelines are 5–10 business days from approval; this is determined by your bank and is outside our direct control.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your lawyer dashboard. Cancellation stops the next billing cycle but does not automatically trigger a refund for the current cycle (see Section 1 for refund eligibility).
Your profile will remain active until the end of the paid period. After that, the profile is set to inactive and is no longer visible to consumers, but your account record is retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Chargebacks and disputes
Please reach out to us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. Most billing concerns can be resolved more quickly via the process in Section 3. If a chargeback is initiated, we may suspend your account pending resolution.
7. Changes to this policy
Material changes will be communicated by email and / or by an in-app notification before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
