This page explains every cookie LawyersNearMe sets in your browser, why we set it, and how long it stays. The cookies described in the table below are first-party only — nothing in the table is shared with advertisers or third-party trackers, and we do not run third-party analytics or marketing scripts on our pages.
Two kinds of third-party cookies may appear in your browser when you use specific Platform features. We disclose them so there are no surprises:
- • Sign-in identity provider cookies.If you sign in using a third-party identity provider (for example, Google), that provider may set its own cookies on its own domain as part of the sign-in flow. Those cookies are governed by the identity provider's privacy notice, not by us.
- • Payment-gateway cookies.When advocates pay a subscription, the checkout step is delivered by our payment gateway. The gateway may set its own cookies on its own checkout domain for security, fraud detection and session continuity. Those cookies are governed by the gateway's privacy notice.
If we ever start using third-party cookies on our own pages (analytics, advertising, retargeting, anything outside the third-party domains above), we will update this notice and re-prompt you for consent before any such cookie is set.
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time. To do so, use the “Manage cookies” link in the site footer.

What we do with this data
- • Aggregate counts of how many people analysed each legal issue, shown to admins as platform-health metrics.
- • Linking your anonymous activity to your account on signup, so your audit log reflects your full journey.
- • We do not use this data for advertising, third-party profiling, or sale to third parties.
Your rights
- • Withdraw consent at any time — click “Manage cookies” in the footer.
- • Decline non-essential cookies — analytics cookies will not be set or read.
- • Clear cookies via your browser— both cookies are visible in the browser's site-data settings and can be deleted manually. You will be re-prompted on the next page load.
Changes to this notice
If we ever start using new cookies (for example, third-party analytics or advertising), we will update this page and re-prompt you for consent before any new cookies are set.
